This blend offers intense black fruit notes such as blackberry, as well as the freshness of raspberry enhanced by spicy notes of garrigue, violet, pepper, and crushed granite. The rich and full-bodied palate is balanced by supple tannins, with a long finish. The optimal food pairings are dishes that complement the wine's spicy and savory elements: richer white meats and poultry are good choices, as are grilled red meats, provided the wine is served slightly chilled to offset the smoky character of the meat or barbecued vegetables. It also pairs excellently with rich, fatty fish such as a nice tuna steak.
